LAMDA and Musical Theatre

Students will spend 40 minutes working on a Music Theatre international musical., have a 10-minute snack break then work on their solo LAMDA examinations in speech or singing. Classes are strictly limited to 10 students. All of our themes and scripts are carefully selected to support the national curriculum. SMSC (spiritual, moral, social and cultural development) Is a new area to Ofsted that we support in our classes.

Developed by renowned educators and designed to be perfect musical theatre productions for children and teenagers alike. The music is written in keys that are appropriate for developing voices and we ensure everyone gets a part with plenty of lines. Our previous MTI shows include Aladdin, Aristocats, Jungle Book, Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Into the Woods and Annie. All children receive a real script from MTI that has everything the children need to work on their performances at home between classes.

The process of preparing for and succeeding in a LAMDA Examination helps Learners, whatever their ages or aspirations, to develop a broad range of skills that will serve them throughout life. Our examinations develop a Learner’s ability to:

read easily, fluently and with good understanding
expand vocabulary to improve powers of self-expression
improve confidence in speaking and listening
memorise and recall information
research and create persuasive formal presentations
create and defend arguments
engage in constructive informal conversation
work both on their own and participate as a member of a team

No matter what direction Learners choose to follow in the future, our examinations provide the opportunity to nurture their natural abilities. These critical skills will enhance their self-confidence to engage and contribute fully, whether at school, in further education, at work or in the community. In other words, to fulfil their potential.

Joining Let’s act was the best thing we as a family could have ever done Lani is now at drama school in London. Katy loves her Tuesday and Friday class. I have made fantastic lifelong friends and have been known to take the stage myself with the adult Rock choir

Best thing we could have done for our little boy. Addison started in the baby class around 3 years old and has progressed through to the Donaldsons class. He has grown in confidence, found his voice and his stammer has completely gone. All the teachers are amazing with the children and he has met some fantastic life long friends. Xx

My two daughters attend Lets Act and learn how to dance sing and act. They have made some great friends and really have developed their confidence. The teachers are caring and supportive. It is a friendly school where children and young people can be themselves.

We love let’s act! My two girls have been doing it since they were 4. The confidence they get from regularly performing is really lovely to see. Miss Amy and all the teachers are truly brilliant and create a really nurturing environment. It is really like a family! There are opportunities to get agents and auditions if that’s what you want and they do Lamda exams, but if you just want have a fun activity where your children can build confidence and make friends then it’s also perfect! Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
